Families First Coronavirus Response Act Signed Into Law

On Wednesday, March 18, 2020, President Trump signed the Families First Coronavirus Response Act into law. The two most prominent sections of the Act institute an emergency expansion of the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and introduce a new emergency paid sick leave entitlement for certain employee absences caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. The Act also provides emergency federal funding for COVID-19 testing, nutrition assistance, unemployment compensation benefits, and other things.
