DMLO CPAs Wins National When Work Works Award

Providing a top-notch workplace culture is a key focus at DMLO, and as a result we could not be more pleased to learn that we are one of only six Kentucky winners of the When Work Works award.

The award recognizes employers who have created effective workplaces based on six components:

  • autonomy
  • work-life fit
  • supervisor support for work success
  • satisfaction with earnings, benefits and opportunities for advancement
  • opportunities for learning
  • a culture of trust

All are factors associated with employee health, well-being and engagement. The award is unique for its rigorous, two-step selection process, which involves an evaluation of employers’ flexibility programs and practices, and a confidential employee survey on the key ingredients of an effective and flexible workplace. Two-thirds of the score is determined by the results of the employee survey. Unlike some award programs, there is no fee required of firms to participate/be selected.

When my husband and I decided to start our family, DMLO was the perfect answer to my need for a flex schedule. When my son was a child, I worked only during the school year. As he’s gotten older, I’ve been able to increase and decrease my number of hours worked as needed. The directors I have worked for have always been accepting and open to the flexibility I needed. I have never felt that my schedule was a hindrance to them.
