We were excited to learn recently that we have been selected as a finalist for the 2017 When Work Works Award, honoring employers who have created effective workplaces based on six components:
- Work-life fit
- Supervisor support for work success
- Satisfaction with earnings, benefits and opportunities for advancement
- Opportunities for learning
- A culture of trust
All are factors associated with employee health, well-being and engagement. We hope to be recognized as one of a handful of winners in Kentucky for the fourth consecutive year when the awards are announced later this year.
The When Work Works Award (formerly known as the Alfred P. Sloan Award for Excellence in Workplace Effectiveness and Flexibility) is unique for its rigorous, two-step selection process, which involves an evaluation of employers’ flexibility programs and practices, and a confidential employee survey on the key ingredients of an effective and flexible workplace. Two-thirds of the score is determined by the results of the employee survey. All companies are measured against national norms from the 2016 National Study of Employers.
DMLO was one of only eight Kentucky workplaces named as a winner of the 2016 program; a total of 351 workplaces won the Award nationwide.
